2010 lots of tears over finances... tears over change... Donna moving out... tears of long over due grieving... tears over distance with my brother and family.
2010 also brought joy... a summer filled with making my kids happy. Spending time in the sun, at the beach at any water hole we could find. We loved summer! A renewed sense of purpose with my children and all that I encounter. The Leader in Me and 7 Habits have made an incredible impact both personally and professionally.
What are my desires for the year of 2011...
Financial security... a reduction in debt... a sense of living within our means and still enjoying our life.
Safety... after a near disaster on the night after Christmas... safety measures all around.
Health changes... eating healthy... reduce this weight... get more active...
Marriage... renewed trust. Continued faithfulness. And love abundently.
Living life with passion... appreciating every day pleasures and finding joy every day.
Trusting in God... believing he will see all my desires are fufilled.

Ah... on the road down!
New Day... new start...
I have been very excited to learn about the new ww changes. Found enough credit on a card to charge 3 months! So hoping that by February vacation I can be on my way to thin! Realistically, I just don't want to gain those 10 pounds I manged to lose and keep off this year. At this time of year it would be all to easy to do. So, I put my feet on the floor and started to use the treadmill. I put my money where my mouth is and rejoined on line. The program is just different enough that I will have to track my food and it will count my points. No more guessing... no more fudging... What do I expect this month... It would be great to be down 10 by Christmas. How about 30 by Feb. vacation ? Yes, the goal... if I manage to lose more than that, great! But 30 down will be super! And 30 more by summer... :)
I am going to try and figure out how to put a ticker on this blog! That would be motivating!
What am I willing to do? Track my food. Walk 20-40 minutes a day. Blog my losses! I certainly seem to have the daily points to not feel deprived. I can earn 3 extra points daily for the exercise. I am pretty psyched up to do this!!!
I don't want to mention this to Ken or anyone else for that matter. I keep quitting and I don't want to disappoint anyone or myself. So I will just do my thing... and results will soon follow!

Thanksgiving Blessings
A moment of peace to reflect on what is important to me...
My husband and children are my driving force. Seeing them happy and doing what they love brings a smile inside and out. My home... beautiful and a place for relaxing, socializing and being! Having friends that we enjoy simple times with... knowing we can count on each other. Keeping and making traditions for all seasons. Teaching my children the importance of family, love and contentment.
Letting go of resentments when others don't have the same values. I need to work on this.

Lovin Weekends
What an incredible weekend enjoying life!
First a night out to a comedy show with 3 other great couples! Loads of laughs!
Sat. I got all dolled up and went to Boston. Can't even remember the last time I was there. Ate dinner at a swanky club called Blu. (In the Ritz Carlton) Then off to a very fun musical called "Rock of Ages" Loved listening to music that I really had lost an appreciation for. (80's rock)
Sunday I made it to church with Andrew...ahhhh! And I should say made it through witha smile still on my face. Then we took the boys on a 3 hour hike. So nice. Great weather, nice scenary. AHHH! Took some cute pictures too! Sure was tired when I got up this AM!

Where did the month go?
It has been a whole month since I had the opportunity to post. Ok, a month since I felt the nudge to post. Life gets you busy... laundry, cooking dinner, sitting doing homework, baths, putting clothes away, cleaning the house... repeat, repeat, repeat. Not much time to sharpen the saw... had a couple opportunities to take some pictures, one visit to the beach, a couple trips to the store, a few parties. I notice that the desire to "do what you love" isn't at the same level as it was during summer vacation. Enjoying what I do... a bit more.
This weekend, we are going to spend time doing some stuff to sharpen the family saw. Possibilities... getting trick or treat costumes, barnes and noble, apple picking, pumpkin festival, a trail walk on Mines Falls. Out to breakfast...ah, Life is Good.

Bummer
It is a bummer that I don't get to spend as much time doing what I love or enjoying simple pleasures. Maybe its just me getting into a routine. Trying to get things in order in the house. Long Weekend
Ahhhh a long weekend! Friday and Monday! Yippie!
Cleaned up the basement...
Paid bills.
Taking the boys to the pool. Rain comes in tonight. Trying to make a decision if we should/not go to Ri this weekend. I have plenty to do around here...
Preparation for Andrew's birthday party next weekend. Gift bags. Gifts. Cake. I should just stop thinking of going to RI and just start making my list on what to do around here.
Ok, so back to going to RI. I should have just planned that from the get go. Instead I enjoyed my day. Now I have to run around...laundry to put away, packing, grocery shopping. Not to mention that I need to prepare for Andrew's birthday party next weekend. All week for that I guess!
So we will go to RI. See my nephews. Go to the beach for the last hurah.. and possibly the pool for one more time on Monday. Just sharpening my saw! Ha Ha!

New focus for the fall...
Ahhh what a summer. I feel blessed to have has such a great summer! Sunshine, watching my boys play by the shore, dive into pools and explore the lakes! Seeing their confidence blossom, their swimming skills improve! Their little bodies get tanner by the day! Staying busy doing what we love!
Now to the next season. One of routine. Keeping everyone helping out and making everyone's life just a little easier. Planning to keep balance in mind as we schedule our week. Planning on keeping our summer vacation mentality at least in our heart. What do we love to do? What makes me/us happy? Finding new loves in the simple things and enjoying our time as a family!
As my "How did I spend my summer vacation...", blog turns over to a new leaf, I need to refocus. What did I do today to help someone? and what simple pleasures did I partake in?
( biting into a fresh apple, selecting that perfect pumpkin, fall hikes, maybe trying geocaching, baking something healthy on a cool morning, finding the biggest and smallest colorful leaf.) Possibilities are endless! Excited to start my new journey!

I am having a low day. Not motivated. Discouraged. Frustrated. Overwhelmed with doubt.
Doing what I love today... I'm not sure if that is in my cards. Though I know it would make me feel better.
What am I so discouraged about... I know that the power of my words and thoughts will have an impact on out comes so I try not verbalize or even think them through.. I try visualizing things with a wonderful outcome. I try thinking what have I learned from my trials. I try going back to feelings of security and hope. So difficult.
If money were no object, and kids were not a hinderance... what would my day look like?
I would go out and get an ice coffee. I would then head to the school store. I might stop and get some make up. Then to school.

Day 30
I am pretty pleased with the way we spent our first 30 days of vacation. Now to keep that momentum up. I want the kids to always remember the great summers, of doing what we love and making ourselves happy! I have fantastic memories of family, outdoors, exploring, WATER and no stress. Its fun to know that the effort my mom put out there seemed effortless, but I am certain it wasn't. The values she instilled in me carry on!

Can't be sure that this made Joseph happy... but it made me happy!Lots of fun moments at Santa's Village.... Christmas is certainly what makes us all at that happy spot in our hearts!

Day 25 of vacation! Where is the time going to? Today I will be preparing to go on a little family vacation getaway. Packing grocery store...Boys slept in their own beds!!!! YEAH!!!
Ken brought me an ice cold ice coffee before he left for work! :)
Its going to be a good day!
All is quiet, kids are playing out in their fort! Go figure!

Day 24
Missing the beach...
Got a walk in this AM! Dog was happy! I was up and certainly wasn't going to fall back to sleep... so I figured I may as well get going!
Pool today? Sun is coming.
Laundry... catch up! AND put laundry away...
Took the boys to the pool... testing me today...ended up leaving and now having quiet time.
I found my 4th 4 leaf clover of the summer! PLEASE let this be the lucky one! Took a picture of it! Cute!
Had to clean the rugs upstairs... darn dog! Just had him out and he does that to me!

A rainy day today. We really need it!
Hoping to go to the dollar store. I need to replace my wooden spoons! I have 1 left! The dog thinks that these are his bone! Brother!

It was a decent day! Got all of the above mentioned things done... plus cleaned out quite a bit in the basement! Now to get hold of Maureen to connect to get this stuff over to Mary by the weekend!

Happy Sunday!
Slept later then normal!
Nothing on the agenda...
Its just about 3:00 what have I done?
Got 2 loads of laundry started.
Colored my hair.
Striped the bed.
Guess that's it... 3 things! Ha, words of years past! Feeling like I have wasted a beautiful day!
Made a nice early dinner, or late lunch. however you want to look at it.
Ran water over the slide to make a slip and slide.
Watered the plants and took note... WEED at some point this week!

I did a lot of things that made me happy today...
I went shopping with nothing in particular to find!
I got a few fun finds socks for a quarter!!! For the boys... but still~!
I got a cute apple runner for the table... sure its for fall... but it was 3.99!
Went to Khols and got the kids some shorts and t shirts! Spent 6 bucks for a bag full of Nike stuff. Granted I had a 30 gift card... but still what a buy!
Did some grocery shopping at Hannafords. Not my usual store but got some different things.
Also went to Lull's Farm. Got delicious grape tomoatoes... lushious fresh squash! Red potatoes for garlic potatoes with stek tomorrow!
It was a good day. Trying a new recipe for dinner. Rotini, beef, tomatoes, cheese, cream of chik. soup and french onions! Can't wait to try it!

It's Friday.... a trip to Mac Donalds... that will make the boys happy!
Went to Maureen's. The boys had a blast in their pool. I enjoyed the adult conversation! When it was time to leave... A. just didn't want to hear of it. Such a tired boy! All that whining stressed me out. I tried to distract by getting the boys milkshakes... I had never got them those before. It took a few minutes off the whinning! It seemed like something crashed in the universe...everyone needed something!!! And I needed quiet time... seems to be at a premium this afternoon.
AHHHH!

Need to arrange a time to "copy" the welcome letter and get envelopes.

Took the boys to the Condo pool for a couple of hours. :)
Painted my toe nails! :)
Made a nice dinner for Ken :)

Day 16
Got up and walked the dog. :) Made us both happy... sweaty but happy!
Today's weather is still hot hot hot! Plan to go over to the library. Select some books from the book list that Joseph needs to read.
Also think I will get the boys "School playing" stuff together. A box with books, workbooks, scissors, crayons and pencils.
Maybe over to the condo pool? Not sure...
So by 11:20... I have been to the library... and created some lovely stepping stones. I am sitting here thinking of all the what next possibilities.... the kids are playing nicely with a wide assortment of figurines.
I know I should go down to the basement and start to pull out stuff for the yard sale that Mary is going to have for Hannah's Lore.
I also could pull out the workbooks, crayons, pencils for the boys to occupy themselves with. I started a school memory book for Joseph and Andrew.
I have a ton of papers to sort through and toss out.
Let's see what I accomplished.
Went to the library... got out a bunch of books. Non of which were on the list. :(
I did clean out all the old school papers.
Went to the grocery store.
I got stuff together for Mary's yard sale.
I pulled together some workbooks for the boys.
Cleaned up TOYS! CLEANED UP TOYS! Repeat...
Tired of cleaning... and not having anything to show for it~
Doesn't sound like I was happy does it? Though I should be happy with all that I accomplished.

Tuesday July 6, WOW! A break from the beach and summer exploring.
Home to regroup! Up early to take this poor neglected dog out for a sweaty walk! Liked it... but it was hot and humid at 5:30!

Decided on the movie Toy Story 3... cried within the first 5 minutes! Joseph really enjoyed it. He is already worrying about his toys when he goes to college! In fact he wants a box that we can write college on... so he can fill it with his favorites!
Had a delicious smoothie for lunch! YUM!

Still quiet in the house at 8:30! Got some tired souls here!

The pool was hot... kids had fun splashing and swimming.
Had a delicious DEL's for the ride home... and then a lil nap!
It is even hotter in NH. Poor beautiful flowers in our yard are dried up... Needing some tender loving care!
Had a nice quiet dinner. Plan on a early bedtime for all us!

Ahhh the calm the morning after a good party! My mind is racing with SO MANY possibilities that the day has instore!
Josh and Kristin will visit today... lots of cool things to share with them in such a short visit. So we will do whatever we can to share what we love about being here...We'll need them to come back so that we can share a full RI good time!

TGIF! Ken comes tonight!
A beautiful morning! Cool air, warm sun! What will today bring?
Some preparation for tomorrows cook out:
Baking Brownies and cookies
Making potato and Mac Salad
Making sauce Chicken Parm tonight.
Vacuum
Bathroom clean
Sheets wash
BEACH!!!!!
ALl of the above... accomplished!
Plus a trip to the dollar store and Stopnshop!
Ran into an old childhood friend. Amazing how some people don't ever change... not talking about looks either. I am very happy with how my life has played out and how I never compromised my values!
Boys enjoyed the dock beach. Spent a great deal of time on the docks watching people fish! The new obsession has begun! Thankfully they have poles... just need to dig out all the gear!
Got a skim board for the boys to share. If it proves to be something that they just can't take turns with I will get another.
I know we will be back down the docks or beach tonight.... :)

Day 10
Yikes, we've reach the double digit days on vacation! Can fully say I feel like we have made the most of everyday so far! Doing what we love and staying happy!
Today... door is open for more of the same.
A trip to the market. Fresh fruits, and veggies.

Not sure what the day will bring, but the weather is gorgeous! Sunny, breezy, fresh smell in the air!
Perfect 4 hours at the "beach dock!"
Showering... nothing like the feeling of clean skin after being all tightened up from the salt water! LOVE IT!
Off to Aunt Carries... chowder and clamcakes! Maybe ice cream! :)

What a nice evening down at the point. Enjoyed our dinner outside. Ice cream too! Then we went down to the light house. Beautiful! Wish my camera's batteries weren't dying. But a few memories were captured.

Day 9
Big splash is Andrew... Joe is swimming toward shore!Back to RI... back to the beach! I was amazed to see the temperature so chilly after the very hot start to the week. I actually was cold at the beach!
No walk today...I would have if we had stayed at the beach long enough. We went to the dock instead... the boys conquered their fear of jumping off the dock!! Pretty amazing to see such a change... and awesome to see how excited they were that they could do it!!! AMAZING!

Start of the second week of vacation! Home in NH today. Preparing for a week in RI. Weather looks to be great! Today will be filled with planning on what we need food, and other wise.

Day 7
Up early to get a walk in. Humid... and warm. I'm excited to be able to spend the day with the girls! Out shopping, out to lunch... ahhh! Just to get to be out and about.
I'm sure lots of laughter will be in store!
Absolutley bushed. I think if I could get away with it I would go right to bed! Shopping is hard work... especially in the heat! Walked so much !
Glad to hear that the boys played so well today. Legos kept everyone occupied!

Day 6
An incredible day! Started with a walk on the beach followed by exploring the salt pond! Love exploring. Then off to a family birthday party which was really relaxing and fun! Summer is proving good things to us. We are happy that we are able to do what we love!

What a perfect 10! My husband home from work. In RI. Joe feeling better. The weather couldn't have been better! The kids were excellent. The beach was incredible. Had a few unreal walks on the beach. Sitting on the dock. Pizza for dinner. Ahh life is good!
