Pending snow day... why would that make me happy? Well, 2 birthday parties this weekend for one. A list a mile long of things I want to get done. A birthday boy who got sent home sick today and probably needs to be home tomorrow too. A LONG week... and a Thursday n ight with absolutely no motivation... ugg!~ So I will put my pj's on inside out sleep with a spoon under my pillow... and anoy other crazy thing to get my day off. One should know... a day off isn't really a day off with 2 little boys! I must be CRAZY!

Dinner with the girlfriends. :) Pride in seeing a great display of student work. Ahh... is it Friday yet?

I don't know if this was the best day... but trying to find the good... here goes! Sunshine. Seeing a Golden Hawk on a hunt in the field behind the school. Finally getting my classroom in order! Projects up and out! Looks good! Easy homework tonight... Seeing old friends at International Night! Early to bed tonight!

The day after...

I am stuck in birthday mode! Slept late...went out to breakfast.... grocery shopping tried to bring me back to reality... making a turkey dinner for the family... still trying to bring me back to the real world... loads of lists starting in my head... I'm holding firm... enjoying every minute of my birthday weekend!!! Flowers, cake and ice cream tonight...maybe a lil nap? Ha!

What a nice day...
Breakfast in bed... actually two times. Joseph delivered waffles and syrup... then Ken made me an omelet. Dunkin Donuts coffee delivered to bed. Read some magazines.... showered then went out shopping. Got a nice deal on a pair of chairs for outside. Love a bargain. Then went out to bet a bed quilt for my room with my birthday cash. Actually came home with 2... one for the guest room. Put those new sets on. Watched some guilty pleasure tv... Sister wives and Survivor Honestly I have no idea what that fascination is on either show. Almost had a nap...
Showered and now getting ready to go to dinner with dear friends.
Perfect day!

Ahhh... a weekend!
Lobster roll for lunch, Pizza for super, a cold glass of wine, NICE way to start off my birthday weekend!

Thrilled to have my birthday on a weekend this year!
Happy to have had a few RSVP's for Joseph's party next Sat.
It makes him so happy to hear YES!

Ahh... I have been following a few people's blogs and really missing my own writing. Did those words actually come out of my mouth? I think I miss my focusing on the good things in my/our life. You know those things that I have the time to appreciate on weekends and vacations... It is all to easy to get sucked into the complaining and worrying and more complaining and focusing on the all the whining which generally leads to me raising my voice... otherwise called yelling!
So where I might be tempted to relive my frustrations of the day and there were plenty, I won't. I will search my mind for the little things that made me smile...

Ahh that half hour of "NOTHING" between dropping off the kids at CCD...quietness. A hot cup of coffee... Today we just filled up the gas tank and sat in a parking lot... ahh peace.

I also am looking forward to Ken picking up dinner and sitting just the two of us and eating. Appreciating the fact that I didn't have to cook dinner.

Love that Joseph seemed to have mastered his spelling list with little struggle this week.

I know that most days it will be a struggle to sift through the loudness to find those moments of appreciation... but that is what makes me happy... so I going to make the time to do this.

I know we just had vacation. I know we enjoyed sunshine, flipflops, shorts no jackets and loads of fun... but having only been home short of 2 weeks... I am beat! Sick kids are bringing us down with worry and constant whinning.

We/ I have started to get out and walk. Not miles and miles... but out there and enjoying. I'll see if I can keep this up! Hope to!
